Sleeping Bag

For Christmas I made Maya's dolls a sleeping bag and pillow. Funny thing is I made it slightly too big so now Maya thinks it is for her.
FYI- I think that paper is on it's third useage. I do not buy paper.

Triplets

Maya loving the triplets my aunt Betsy gave her for Christmas. It is lucky they never cry at the same time cause you only have two mommies.

Yum Yum

For this Christmas I received THREE cookbooks....
  • The original Moosewood. I also have a low fat one. Great veggie food.
  • Everyday Food . A Martha publication. Every recipe is simple, simple ingredient, photos for every recipe. Sure to become a family favorite. Also arranged by season. Love that.
  • Better Home and Gardens New Cookbook. I'm sure it full of classics, but it enclosed in plastic and I have a gift recipe sooo I might exchange it for Deceptively Delious. I already do her methods anyways but the book is just so darn cute...and spiral bound. Lothatve .

Fashion

Two Points

  • The problem with noticing what is in style that when I note my own clothing choices I see how truly far from being in style I am.
  • Or perhaps I am clueless about fashion as i am looking at the latest Sears catalogue and am liking most everything. I do not remember the catalogue being so up to date and cool.

I need help.

This proves it ....I am incredibility fertile. Despite nursing around the clock at least every three hours I have regained fertility. Guess it is that irish DNA.

Definitely time for one of us to be incapable of reproducing.

Christmas Meltdown

I need at least 12 hours soon with no one demanding attention from me, no one making more messes, no little body wanting to be held and I really need to clean to the house, do laundry, do dishes before I can do anything. Then..... oh the list is endless.

Kettles

Today I did a few hours manning the Salvation Army kettle at Zellars.
Good fun. I got to stand and cuddle a sleeping Ever. Have people admire my baby, admire my dedication to stand there with a baby, say Merry Christmas to everybody, and people watch. It is amazing how many people you know come by if you stand still in one spot for two hours.

In case you are interested I think the kettle got $50 over two hours. Good stuff. Praise God.
I call this Ever's organic farmer outfit.

Santa Expereince??

Here is Maya being consoled with ice cream after she wasn't able to see Santa at Sherway Gardens.
While we were in Toronto this week we thought it would be fun to walk around a mall for a bit and Maya see Santa. Frankly I do not know what is wrong with us. First both of us looked like a walking rag related to Ever's spit up and a very dirty car. Second, it is just a bunch of stuff that is way too expensive. Thirdly, the afternoon was soured by the Santa experience. Instead of having children line to sit on santa's knee children go in groups and sing and play games with him instead. Problem is that it is all pre scdulaed, and of course it costs money. The money goes to a good cause, but I think it is a stupid charity. Sleeping children around the world. Sheway gardens wouldn't want to remind people that around the world child children are hungry. The patons of the Santa experience can feel good for themselves knowing some sad little malnourished child has a warm bed to sleep in, in Africa.

Swimming

We took Ever swimming for the first time last weekend. He seemed to enjoy wearing his speedo and splashing around. Oh and if anybody knows wear one can purchase matching father/son speedos let me know.

The one and only santa claus

Maya and I attended a Hanover community players production tonight, The One and Only Santa Claus. Cute little production. The highlight for Maya was the candy cane that was handed out as Santa came into the audience. It also fed into Mayas insistence that Santa is real not pretend, no matter how hard we try to explain.

Broken

Every time Luke breaks something I say I can't have anything nice- cause it isn't the crappy stuff that gets broken, that stuff will last forever. No every item of pottery I own, all of my nice dishes, special decorative items all find victim under Luke's care.

However, apparently I have to watch out for Maya now.

Rest in peace wonderful big pottery mug. So many cups of coffee and hot chocolate we have shared. You have warmed my hands, and soothed my grouchy morningness with your contents.

Present

Mayas big present from us was a camera. She loves taking pictures, which was the reason we needed to get a new camera. Now she can take pictures on her camera and ours is for us. The resolution is not that great but is apparently indestructible and you get the general idea of what the picture is of.

In a Tent

The highlight of the sleepover was sleeping in a tent.
They were tired so started to go to sleep around 9ish but didn't stop laughing and talking until 11pm. They woke up at 0730 but we ignored them until 0830. I really can't believe they slept through the night together. Emily lives less then a block away so we were prepared for 3am crying begging to go home.

Pink and Purple Icing

For Maya's sleepover, her and Emily Jolley decorated cupcakes. Maya had hers and then kept on stealing candy/ Emily liked decorating it but wasn't so much into eating it.

Gingerbread Shack

Maya and I made this 'home' a few weeks ago. Of course I didn't have all the ingreadnets to make proper icing/ building cement thus the walls came a tumbling down.

This is my Life

For some insane reason I decided to take a course this semester, yes along with having a newborn baby. However the course is about newborn babies so I figured I would be fine. My final exam for Newborn assessment is on Thursday, so I am cramming.
It is the first web based course I have taken, and I thought it would be more structured and interactive. As well I do not have a current textbook, which is a challenge, I have been using mine from basic nurses training, some I got from my MD friends, and a couple from Georgian college library- but there is alot of conflicting information. ie. Cord care. The exam is multiple choice- my speciality but please pray for me on Thursday that my brain will work- it has not be up to bar lately.

Fyi- My favorite place to study is the top of the stairs.
