As Anne has been working nights this weekend I have had a lot of game playing time. Here my list of current games.
- Jedi Academy: Jedi Knight II
- Tony Hawk: Pro Skater 4
- Midnight Club 2
- Star Trek: Elite Force 2

I just started Jedi Academy last night but I really need to finish Elite Force first. Tony Hawk is very addicting too, I think I like their mssion system a lot more than the last version. It really is quite inovative.
Really I am just killing time until Half-Life 2 comes out that, which right now is just scheduled for the "holiday season". That puts it right about when our baby is born and I am sure it will be quick the adventure to sneak in some gaming time when that happens :)
Dale Lang the father of the boy who died in the Taber, Alberta incident spoke at our church today. It was a very good service and centred on forgiveness and not being a lukewarm Christian. He is a very well spoken pastor.
One thing bothered me though. He spoke of these being "dark times", and "these hard times in the world". The reason that I am bother by those is that I fail to understand what makes this day and age so bad compared to other times in the past. Yes there are wars, but that always has been, and much worse ones in the past at that. Maybe because of the whole gay/lesbian marriage thing? But homosexuality has always been a part of society and has been more open at some times than others, and their marriage is just a piece of paper, much like many heterosexual people treat it these days.
So why is now any worse than any other time, I am not really seeing it. Yes as Christians we need to minister more, but that is an eternal struggle that waxes and wanes with time.
Maybe I am just blind to the evil out there, but I don't' think I am that naive.
I was up to 3am last night watch 3 episodes of Six Feet Under, 3 more episodes and I am all caught up. This show is way too addicting, I can totally see how people get sucked into soap operas. Anne and I enjoy Six Feet though because everyone is screwed up enough that you really don't have any idea what is doing to happen next. Its not a happy show either, but somehow it just grips you...

The other side of the story: There was never any look of disgust, and you can barely see the stretch marks. Honestly, I was forced to point them out before she should even make them out. Oh well, 2 more months to go.

Also we were very bad in updating the blog this week and I will endeavor to make sure that I do so more often. Update it that is...

If some doesn't find Teen Girl Squad funny, they are in a sad state of affairs.
And I think its kind of funny that certain other people who can't spell, punctuate, or use links can call others lazy! hmmmm...

When and if we get a second vehicle I want to get one with a standard transmission and take this course. Then I want to go and drive like they do in these videos. We planning on going here and watching people drive like that in November.
Why oh why does the WRC not have a Canadian stop? You could even have a winter and summer course! Maybe someday...

Want to see some totally wacked out optical illusions? These 2 are both based on the same principle. Click here and click here.
Yes it makes my brain hurt too.
Just saw the movie Bowling for Columbine. I really enjoyed it, but I can see how it ticks off so many Americans. I don't think as Canadians we can really understand their point of view, they are just that mess up as a country. Yes that's a rash generalization, but as the movie points out, the statistics are pretty grim.

Well I am chatting with an old friend from college and get this dream come true: He's chatting with a girl at work that he is quite interested in. So I guess they are have a conversation and then she asks him, wait for it, if he wants to go on vacation with her and her family over Christmas.
Now tell me that's not something out a movie. Well, except the family part, as that happens in bad comedies. Very lucky guy, we will have to keep tabs on that story I think.

Oh ya, so for my birthday, I bought myself this. Its a nice new Thermaltake Xaser III aluminum computer case. I'll add a couple of lights to it and make it all pretty inside. What's that? Why yes, I am a total geek. :)
This weekend I visited my friend Ian just north of Toronto. What was the itinerary? Here it is:
1. Xbox
2: Mountain Biking

We somehow managed to meet our goals.

The mountain biking was great. We were planning on biking at Albion Hills near by but there were races there this weekend so went a public trail near Bolton we have quite good. It was quite hilly with some rough sections.
On Sunday we went to Kelso near Milton. Lots of fun with some technical stuff as well as man made technical jumps and balancing rails and such. A good workout regardless.

The Xbox was a lot of fun. We had 3 games rented.
1. Gotham Racing
2. Dynasty Warriors 4
3. Soul Calibur 2
Gotham racing was okay, good racing with a "kudos" points system making it interesting.
Dynasty Warriors 4 is what we spent the majority of the time on as it was a great 2 player game. Nothing like taking our whole army's of guys with 1 special move.
I played a lot of Soul Calibur 2 and have to say that it is one of the best fighting games I have every played. Combos, special moves, gorgeous characters and levels. Plus with the weapons master story mode, its got all you ever need to fully enjoy a fighting game.
Happy Birthday to me! I still can't quite grasp that I am now 26. Only 4 more years 'till I am 30. Weird.

So the big thing today in the geek world (at least video card geeks) is the published benchmarks for Half-Life 2. Basically all Nvidia GeForce FX cards are slaughtered and the Ati Radeon series dominates. The has greatly upset the many loyal nvidia fans. Lots of arguing, name calling, etc, etc. I dunno, its a lot of very interesting reading to me...

Anyway, I am an Ati customer and Beta tester, I am happily looking forward to Half-life 2 which is definitely looking to be the best game this year for sure.
I have found that in Shacknews comments I can find names of really interesting bands or music in general to listen to. My latest find is Infected Mushroom, an apparently popular psy-trance-goa type group. Yes its just crazy electronic stuff in other words. Here's the song that hooked me.
